Break the Ice is a set of five conversations in the form of a serious game to train people to speak English ... by engaging in "serious talks"!
Break the Ice serves primarily to deepen understanding not only the language but also the set of attitudes and communication strategies of social and professional dialogue where, as in real life, there is the pleasure of sharing at the same time as the risk of misunderstanding or inconsistency.
In the five Break the Ice dialogues, the learner plays the game by making decisions, discovers the natural outcome of the decisions and immediately sees the film that has been produced. In the coaching notes phase, the learner responds to questions about the communication parameters (motivation, intention, style, etc.) and discovers the subtleties of the strategies that can be used as well as practical information about how the characters use English.
