What is Chatscaper?
A user-friendly online tool for creating non-linear dialogue that immediately generates a multimedia game. While it can be used for pure fun, it was designed specifically for trainers concerned with improving the behavioral and interpersonal skills of their learners.
How it works
Chatscaper is an HTML5 application accessible on the internet. Authoring is done online and saved to a server. For use with groups of learners, we recommend either a simple projector or an Interactive White Board. Chatscaper is perfectly adapted for use in a Virtual World such as Wonderschool.
After selecting New Project the author opens a node (n° 1) by clicking on + and types in some text. That’s all there is to it to have the beginning of a game. A click on + in node n° 1 opens a new node below it (n° 2, 3 etc.), where a different character can be selected, as well as a specific attitude for that character. By creating at least two child nodes below the original node the functioning game can immediately be played by selecting Preview Simulation.
